The SCI is not currently accepting applications for its PhD research programme. Please check our website regularly as there may be funding opportunities for SCI-related PhD projects.
The SCI offers funding opportunities for PhD projects related to our research programme. Our doctoral students are registered in and hosted by the most appropriate School for their individual PhD topic and so undertake the relevant research training that is specific to their home discipline. Additionally, all SCI doctoral students participate in on-going SCI research activities including workshops, seminars and collaborations with SCI researchers working on related projects. All SCI funded doctoral students are supervised by at least one member of SCI academic research staff.
Beyond postgraduate research activities, SCI staff actively engage in the wider undergraduate teaching of sustainable consumption at The University of Manchester. Current courses led by SCI research staff are ‘Sustainability, Consumption and Global Responsibilities’ (School of Social Sciences), led by Dr David Evans, and ‘Innovation for a Sustainable Society’ (University College for Interdisciplinary Learning), led by Dr Jo Mylan and Professor Andrew McMeekin.
