The Sefacil Foundation, a regular partner of AIVP, has a new publication called “Circular Economy and Port Ecosystem” in the Les Océanides collection. Led by Yann Alix, Nicolas Mat and Juliette Cerceau, over forty contributors have given their own thoughts on this futuristic subject.
The work begins by explaining the theory behind the circular economy and industrial ecology in port cities and their practical implications, before going on to describe some real-life case studies. These explore all of the complex combinations of interactions that are gradually emerging in port cities and regions. The publication concludes by setting out a range of different visions for the future, in an effort to identify the most efficient and comprehensive ways of implementing this new type of economy, with its potential for innovative development.
