Adapting infrastructure for a lower carbon society – historical project

This project investigates the co-evolution of energy infrastructures and domestic energy use in twentieth century England. It looks at how three councils interacted with energy supply and suppliers, in particular how they introduced energy infrastructures in their council housing, how these infrastructures changed over time and how they shaped domestic practices and vice versa.

The project is part of the Dynamics of Energy, Mobility and Demand (DEMAND) Centre, http://www.demand.ac.uk/.
